Dear
Seeker of Truth,
This section
shall present, the very basic concepts and
knowledge (from its true sources) to support your journey towards the truth .. If you only have
time to read one article,

Essentially, Islam teaches to never be
among those who accept blind faith or in conformance to the current
trend in the society. Rather, Islam teaches that our Creator has
given (all responsible) human beings the faculty of reason (human
same standard). Therefore, it is incumbent upon them to reason
things out objectively and systematically for themselves, to ponder,
to question and to reflect.
Islam teaches that we have
to base our faith on knowledge and support it by argument, then,
accept this faith with our eyes wide open, after thoroughly testing
its validity as the command of God.
God is merciful, So,
the TRUTH which He reveals should be MANIFEST and His teachings
should be EXPLICIT. If God is merciful, Compassionate towards His
Creation and really wants all men to be saved, then, His revelation
and teachings should be clear and comprehensible, even to the
limited human mind. Certainly God is capable of revealing Himself to the human mind in
the way that He WANTS to be understood, Or else, they cannot be
blamed for having an incorrect concept of Him. The basics of faith
that He requires from them should be EXPLICIT in His teachings, and
should be
rational and can be reasoned out by their minds, without
impossible unexplainable dogmas, puzzling concepts or confused mental
acrobatics.
Otherwise, People could invent
any falsehood and justify it by flawed philosophies or they could say
anything and defend it by saying "It's unexplained mystery", But then, all talk would become idle and
completely pointless.
You may have
preconceived ideas or opinions .. relying on the media barrage of awful stereotypes .. But
first, ask yourself whether your existing knowledge is thorough enough. Ask yourself
whether that knowledge has been obtained through third party sources who themselves have
probably been exposed to only random glimpses of Islamic writings and have yet to reason
out on Islam objectively and systematically themselves. You should find out for yourself
about Islam from reliable sources and not only taste it, but rather digest it very well
before you form an opinion of it.
My advice to
you is to be a critical thinker and a critical reader, and to look at things from
the point of view of an outsider. After all, No one is compelled to accept the truth, for Islam teaches that human beings should be given the freedom to
choose. Even when a person is faced with the truth, there is no compulsion upon him to
embrace it. But it is certainly a shame upon the human
intellect when a man is not even interested in finding out the truth!
In making your
successive moves, Islam continually reassures you that your rights to freedom of choice
and freedom to use God-given faculty of thought and reason will be respected, for everyone
has individual will. No one else can take away that will and force you to submit to the
true way of your Creator, you have to find out and make that decision yourself!
May your intellectual
journey towards the truth be a pleasant and fruitful one.
